I gratefully read these and believe them by applying them to my life. Know deep down that I’m loved. Know that nothing will happen to me that will truly harm me because God is my protector. Know that Yahweh is my Shepherd! Affirm these truths morning and night (and every moment that needs it).
1. I am loved! (“There is no fear in love”).
[John 3:16; 1 John 4:18a; Romans 8:35]
2. I do not fear! (“When I’m afraid, I will trust in you”).
3. The LORD is my shepherd!
[Psalm 23]
Bible References Expanded:
- John 3:16-17: For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
- 1 John 4:18a: There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear.
- Romans 8:35: Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
- [Psalms 56:3,4] When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?
- Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1. The Lord is my shepherd;
I have what I need.
2. He lets me lie down in green pastures;
he leads me beside quiet waters.
3. He renews my life;
he leads me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4. Even when I go through the darkest valley,
I fear no danger,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff — they comfort me.
5. You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6. Only goodness and faithful love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
as long as I live.
